From Watching to Learning
Class Observation
We observed an English class by Mrs. Vu Thi Kim Van at the Naval Academy on writing an informal letter about students’ dream houses. The dynamic, interactive atmosphere informed our preparation for teaching practice.
Workshop
At the workshop “From English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to English as a Second Language (ESL) at Vietnamese educational institutions,” we presented the study “High school teachers’ and students’ perceptions of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in STEM,” followed by an engaging Q&A discussion. The session provided valuable feedback and meaningful exchange with lecturers and fellow postgraduates, enriching our understanding of PBL in practice.

From Theory to Practice
Micro-teaching
We conducted a micro-teaching session using our prepared lesson plan for a grammar class taught by Mrs. Ta Thi Thanh Tuyen at the Naval Academy. The naval cadets were cooperative, interactive, and highly engaged, creating a dynamic and effective learning atmosphere.
Seminar
Under the theme “From EFL to ESL in Vietnamese Educational Institutions,” the event featured three parallel thematic seminar sessions, each including two presentations. Our group attended one session with two presentations, “Using ChatGPT to generate input for speaking practice: Prompt strategies for learners” and “Using Episoden to practice speaking with language partners,” which highlighted the use of technology and practical strategies to support English learning for naval cadets.

From Moments to Memories
Aboard the Training Ship
We visited Le Quy Don 286, the only sail training ship of the Vietnam People’s Navy, at Nha Trang Port. Briefings from the captain and political officer highlighted its role in cadet training, seamanship development, and international maritime exchange.
Gala Dinner
A heartfelt gala evening served as a farewell gathering before saying goodbye to Nha Trang, bringing lecturers and students together through performances and shared activities that strengthened the bond between the two institutions.
